OUR STORY

In the spring of 2020, during the COVID pandemic, teachers from Saints Peter & Paul School visited Coldspring. This tour provided an opportunity for them to learn more about Coldspring’s mission and vision. Toward the end of the visit, President Greg Flint and Vice President Dan Rea met with the team to share their vision and discuss the need for a new child care facility.

They proposed establishing a child care center to address the growing shortage of child care options in the area, support incoming Coldspring employees, and serve as a feeder program for Saints Peter & Paul School. While Coldspring did not wish to operate or own the facility, they offered initial financial support in the form of a loan to help launch the project.

The leadership team at Saints Peter & Paul School accepted the partnership and began planning what would become Saints Peter & Paul Child Care. In 2021, a Board of Directors was formed to oversee the development of infrastructure, operations, and design plans.

Saints Peter & Paul Child Care officially opened its doors in February 2022. Saints Peter & Paul Child Care is proud to serve the ROCORI area and the greater community. The center provides care for up to 8 infants, 28 toddlers, and 20 Pre-Kindergarten children

OUR MISSION

Saints Peter & Paul Child Care is a comprehensive childcare facility that serves infants from six weeks old up to school age. Our focus is on integrating academics, faith, and life skills. Our program is built on the understanding that social competence is essential for all learning. The early interpersonal relationships children form play a crucial role in shaping their understanding of the world. We prioritize developing positive relationships grounded in respect for each individual. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for engaging in fulfilling relationships and activities with their peers, teachers, parents, and other important adults in their lives.

OUR PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT

Saints Peter and Paul Child Care, supported by the faith community, fosters a stimulating, nurturing environment that emphasizes Christian values, academic excellence and social development.

OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

OVERVIEW

Saints Peter & Paul Child Care will offer child care services for kids between the ages of six weeks to school age.  Saints Peter & Paul Child Care offers infant care from 7:00 AM-5:30 PM and toddler and preschool care from 6:30 -5:30. The children will be exposed to a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, socialization, general learning and group activities. Saints Peter & Paul Child Care will offer well trained staff and a low student to teacher ratio.

INFANTS (6 WEEKS TO 16 MONTHS)

The growth and development that occurs in the first few years of our infant’s life are significant. Our infant room is setting the foundation for their sense of security and safety. Our center will offer plenty of opportunities to support this growth.

TODDLERS (16 MONTHS TO 33 MONTHS)

Our toddler program is designed to provide each child with a nurturing environment that will stimulate learning. Teachers actively chart the development of each child and provide parents with daily communication regarding their child’s personal care routine.

PRESCHOOL/PRE-K (33 MONTHS TO START OF KINDERGARTEN)

Our preschool and Pre-K curriculum introduces several learning concepts such as literacy, math, and critical thinking skills. Vocabulary development is very important at this stage too, as children will begin to learn the art of writing. The classrooms are organized into centers such as reading, science, math, and writing. Furthermore, children are exposed to a print-rich environment, which allows students to associate written language to oral language. Parents are fully aware of their child’s academic progress through quarterly assessment tools and parent- teacher conferences.

Our Mission

Saints Peter & Paul Child Care fosters a stimulating and nurturing environment that emphasizes Catholic Christian values, academic excellence, and social development.
